Sustainable Built Environment Conference 2023 (SBE23 Asia-Pacific) Profile

The Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) series of conference is regarded as the most influential international event in the sustainable building and construction field. It is jointly initiated by the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB), the International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment (iiSBE), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC). The first SBE conference was held in 2000. Since then, it has been held every three years in a selected city around the globe (Maastricht in 2000, Oslo in 2002, Tokyo in 2005, Melbourne in 2008, Helsinki in 2011, Barcelona in 2014, Hong Kong in 2017, Gothenburg in 2020). The conference operates on a three-year cycle. The first year is the conference planning, the second year is the regional conference, and the third year is the world conference.

SBE23 Asia-Pacific is sponsored by the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, co-sponsored by Shenzhen Housing and Construction Bureau and the Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission and Shenzhen Longgang District People's Government, and organized by the Shenzhen Green Building Association. Themed “Greating Net Zero Earth!We think!We Act!”, the conference is to be held on June in Shenzhen.

The conference includes sessions such as Opening Ceremony, Plenary Session, and Roundtable, Parallel Sessions, Networking Banquet, Closing Ceremony and Green Building Projects Study. The conference will concentrate on "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" in the construction field, talk about topics such as "carbon neutrality and climate adaptability", "Nearly-zero carbon city", "Nearly-zero energy consumption building", "Methods and tools for low-carbon buildings", "Market and policies"“High quality development of green buildings", exchange the latest scientific research achievements, key technologies, practical cases and development trends at home and abroad, and explore effective ways to develop green buildings and achieve nearly-zero carbon emissions.
