Pre-notice on the Sustainable Built Environment 2022 Asia Pacific Conference

All units, experts and scholars,

In order to accomplish our national green development concept and the “dual carbon” goals (carbon peaking and carbon neutrality) and to push forward the sustainable and high-quality development of construction, the Sustainable Built Environment 2022 Asia-Pacific Regional Conference is going to be held in Shenzhen International Low Carbon City from December 1-3, 2022 in Shenzhen. Themed “Creating Net Zero Earth！We think！We Act！”, the conference is hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal People's government, jointly organized by Shenzhen Housing and Construction Bureau and the Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission, and implemented by Shenzhen Green Building Association. 

Relevant information are hereby pre-notified as follows:

I.Time and place

Time: December 1-3, 2022

Place: Shenzhen International Low Carbon City (Yanhe West Road, Longgang District, Shenzhen)

Registration time: November 30, 2022(for attendees from other cities or countries)

Registration place: Shenzhen (specific location will be notified later)

II.Main activities

The conference will include activities such as opening ceremony, plenary session, roundtable, parallel session, closing ceremony and study on green building projects etc... It will talk about topics such as "carbon neutrality and climate adaptability", "nearly- zero carbon cities", "nearly-zero energy consumption buildings", "methods and tools for constructing low carbon buildings", "markets and policies", "high-quality development of green buildings". We aim to hold an internationally influential event in the academic and construction field and provide a replicable Shenzhen scheme for the sustainable development of the global built environment. The conference will bring together experts, scholars and elites from the construction field in the Asia Pacific region and even the world to put our heads together to provide new ideas and reference measures for promoting the sustainable built development in the Asia Pacific region and the Belt and Road Initiative.

III.Attendees

-Government departments, enterprises and institutions, scientific research institutions, colleges and universities related to construction, environmental protection, and energy conservation and emission reduction at home and abroad; 

-The development, planning and design, construction, building materials, building decoration, property management, building intelligence, green transportation, green finance and other relevant enterprises in the field of urban sustainable development and green building.

IV.Collection of papers

The conference will publish a collection of academic papers (to be published on IOP Conference Series or national journals). We are currently calling for papers globally (please find details in www.sbe22asia-pacific.com). The abstract submission deadline is October 16, 2022. All papers will be double blind reviewed. Selected authors will have the opportunity to be invited to share and exchange ideas and insights with honored guests in the conference.

The Sustainable Built Environment 2022 Asia-Pacific Regional Conference (SBE22 Asia-Pacific) Profile

The sustainable Built Environment conference series (hereafter referred to as SBE series) is regarded as the most influential international event in the sustainable building and construction field. It is jointly initiated by the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB), the International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment (iiSBE), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC). The first SBE conference was held in 2000. The conference operates on a three-year cycle. The first year is conference planning, the second year is regional conference, and the third year is world conference. Through various efforts, Shenzhen won the opportunity to hold the Sustainable Built Environment 2022 Asia Pacific Regional Conference (hereinafter referred to as SBE22 Asia Pacific). This is also the first regional conference of SBE series named after the "Asia Pacific region", which is of special commemorative significance.

SBE22 Asia Pacific is an international and academic high-end conference. It will bring together experts, scholars and elites in the field of construction in the Asia Pacific region and even the world to share their academic research and practical experience on "carbon neutrality and climate adaptability", "nearly- zero carbon cities", "nearly-zero energy consumption buildings", "methods and tools for constructing low carbon buildings", "markets and policies", "high-quality development of green buildings" etc.. 

Shenzhen’s green building and building energy efficiency career has started early, planned early and implemented early, and achieved remarkable results. Shenzhen was honored as a "green pioneer" city by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, and was elected the most competitive city for green building development in China in 2021. The achievements of SBE22 Asia-Pacific will be taken as a valuable knowledge wealth to inspire new ideas for the growth of the industry and speed up the realization of China’s “dual carbon” goals. It will also become one of the most important channels to link the construction fields at home and abroad. Shenzhen is honored to have this opportunity to show the world its urban glamour, green development and innovative vitality.
